“(PART III) DELAWARE: THE FORBIDDEN REFUGE”

(C. DeCracken)

[m.b. In the Mouth of Madness] All the major cities on the east coast are silent. We’ve lost contact with Los Angeles and the west coast last night. Take shelter immediately

[m.b. In the Mouth of Madness (repeats in the background)] We’ll continue this emergency broadcast as long as we can hold out here

The end in reach

No hope to see

Dead and dark

A town, no more

[m.b. In the Mouth of Madness (repeats in the background)] We’ll continue this emergency broadcast as long as we can hold out here

Barren is all

Wasteland for naught

Delaware is gone

Refuge forlorn

[m.b. In the Mouth of Madness (repeats in the background)] We’ll continue this emergency broadcast as long as we can hold out here

Where is the way

Whose light will be

All is night

A myth, the light

[m.b. In the Mouth of Madness (repeats in the background)] We’ll continue this emergency broadcast as long as we can hold out here

None can save

No one to free

Left to fight

Til the last will die

[spoken]

The fables we heard as children

The dreams we had in our darkest times

It was all a lie

Just a myth, nothing more

[m.b. In the Mouth of Madness] A bedtime story for their children, a myth, nothing more

[m.b. The Last Winter] What we need out here is a pipeline… and a base camp… and a couple of wells. That’s what God wants

We set up base and prepare

We are the last of humanity

But we’ll go out fighting

Not begging on our knees

[m.b. In the Mouth of Madness]

It wouldn’t happen to me

It would if you realized everything you ever knew was gone. It would be pretty lonely being the last one left

[m.b. In the Mouth of Madness]

Every species can smell it’s own extinction. When we’re the last ones left, we’ll have a pretty time with it. In ten years, maybe less, the human race will just be a bedtime story for their children, a myth, nothing more

In the depths of the bleak

The light shone brightest

Delaware was too sacred a place

For mere physical existence

It was in us

It was a place in the heart

A place in the soul

Delaware was a mystic’s state

A secret unknown

The land of miracles

The weaver of dreams

Where boy bands don’t sell out

And the food stamps flow like honey

[m.b. Lightyears/Gandahar]

We are without food and water. The siege is almost over. Yet the bravery and compassion of my people is magnificent. It is ironic that we shall never have a chance to correct the scientific irresponsibility of our past. I expect this will be my final entry

We envied the dead but were truly blessed

We found Delaware in the goodness of men

And will dwell in the Delaware of heaven

forever

together

[s.b. The Megas The Quick and the Blue] I’m not scared anymore. I join the ranks of my brothers that have fallen before (4x)

Each of us must find our own path to Delaware

Will you invite Delaware into your heart today?
